"sunsets are memorable any time of year"

The town has now blossomed into a sophisticated, cosmopolitan city with stylish shops, a bustling municipal market and an extraordinary number of first class restaurants and nightclubs. There is an enormous range of visitor activities both in the city and in the beautiful natural areas around the Bay. But despite the transformation of "Vallarta" into an international tourist destination, it still retains much of the unique charm and friendliness of a seaside Mexican village.
As much as Puerto Vallarta may owe to early publicity from a popular film, the town's development as a tourism destination was perhaps inevitable. Puerto Vallarta has too many natural qualities for it not to have been recognized as a uniquely gifted tropical resort area. Located on the same latitude as Hawaii, the area enjoys one of the most favorable climates in the world: temperatures in the winter season range from day time highs of 80 to 85 degrees F (27-30C) to 65 to 70 degrees F at night. Summers are warm and humid but comfortable by comparison to many U.S. cities during summer months: daytime temperatures typically rise to the high 80's and late afternoons often bring spectacular thunder showers. But even the warmest summer day is followed by a cooling breeze off the Bay. Vallarta sunsets are memorable any time of year.
